'Offering of Love'
began to emerge during a wild pigment workshop I was leading.
I asked a student to hold a coconut shell for a moment so I could
capture her hands clasping the bowl. It grew from there: an Offering
of Love.

Offering of Love
The original of this images
was painted in natural earth pigments.
Clio talks about the creation of this
image;
My quest at this stage of painting
was Earth's face, and in it, easily accessible, Her qualities
of love, compassion and openess. A face before which you
can stand and feel safe to unmask yourself, to strip off your
armour, to stand naked, to be just as you are: broken, confused,
glowing, flowing, empty, exploding... and know you are held.
Enter, look, listen. Let yourself be healed, be loved. Be Her
child. Be the hero you are.
Another aspect of my painting journey is the bowl. Round bellied,
fertile women, pregnant women. The belly becomes a bowl, a cauldron
full of power and posssibility. Here the bowl moves away from
the belly. She emerges from the Earth and extends to us the gift
of life. A begging bowl - She is begging us to receive.
