![]() Snake Goddess The original of this images was painted in natural earth pigments. The original is for sale. ![]() On holiday with my sister and our families in Cornwall. I'd taken art materials with me, hoping a painting would materialise for a coming exhibition. Each morning I'd wake at dawn and run to the sea. There She'd be in whatever mood, beautiful, my friend and teacher; terrifying in Her power, depth and breadth. She was gentle, very gentle to me. Each morning brought a new song. I sang while I swam in Her, naked, floating, playing and dancing as the sunrise kissed Her surface. The seaweed that caught on my body I wrapped as ornament. While the world was still sleeping (apart from a few joggers...) I was in utter bliss. One sunny afternoon, the beach now covered in happy humans, I found a spot, smoothed the sand and spread out a long strip of old french linen. Onto it She glided, as curious children took time from their creativity to watch her appear. From the unfurling curl of a wave, the kundilini serpent carried the bliss upwards and Her young body made it visible. Siren like, She calls us to celebrate our deep sensuality; the ancient Snake Goddess, the fire of our passion, the silver path threading of water. |
